Aadesh Shrivastava no more: Bollywood celebs pay last respect


Music composer, Aadesh Shrivastava, passed away in Mumbai on Saturday, September 5 at 12:30 am, after putting up a strong and fearless fight against cancer. Aadesh Shrivastava was being treated at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital for the past 42 days. There were also reports of a monk being flown in from Himachal to cure Aadesh’s disease. He is survived by his wife, Vijeta, and sons, Anivesh and Avitesh.

Amitabh Bachchan, who is currently busy with Wazir, came to attend the funeral. Big B tried consoling Aadesh’s wife, Vijeta. The Piku star took to his blog to express his grief. He wrote, “There are moments you know what is going to happen and yet you are never prepared when it happens. When it does, you wish it did not. Aadesh Shrivastava passed away. I lived my music with him. I live without him now… and perhaps my music too…”

Bollywood celebrities and close friends of the composer turned out in huge numbers to pay their last respect to the singer. Those who could not attend his funeral took to social media to mourn the loss and extend their support to the family. The last rites were carried out at the Oshiwara crematorium in Mumbai. Singer, Sonu Nigam, stood by Vijeta Pandit throughout.

In 2011, when Aadesh Shrivastava had been diagnosed with cancer for the first time, the industry had allegedly given him a cold shoulder. But braveheart Aadesh had battled the deadly disease. He overcame it with his zeal and positivity. But this time, Bollywood celebrities gathered in huge numbers to be with the family during this tough period.

Anil Kapoor also came for the funeral. Aadesh Shrivastava’s son, Avitesh Shrivastava, was inconsolable. He performed the last rites of his father. A close friend of Aadesh Shrivastava, Sonu Nigam had also tweeted, “I remember how he sent me his picture from hospital when he had his relapse this time.. Underneath was written, “Mere Chhota bhaai,love you” He was so full of life, i have yet to see another man who has his traits. My heart wrenches in grief for having lost a friend, a brother.I also look deep inside myself today, even more than I ever did, to see where is it that everyone goes from the inside hidden secret path …. for there certainly resides the Absolute One.
