The film’s second week collection are very less likely to come even close to PK’s
To say that Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan has taken the nation and the box office by a storm would be stating the obvious. Kabir Khan’s latest outing has broken several records at the number game and continues its strong run at the box office in its 2nd week too. The film earned Rs 7.10 crore on Wednesday bringing its domestic total to Rs 266.22 crores in 13 days. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures on his Twitter account. “#BajrangiBhaijaan [Wk 2] Fri 12.80 cr, Sat 19.25 cr, Sun 24.05 cr, Mon 9.30 cr, Tue 9.10 cr, Wed 7.10 cr. Total: Rs 266.22 cr. ATBB” he tweeted. The film has also earned Rs 128 crore overseas without accounting for its Wednesday collection. This brings the worldwide total collection to Rs 496 crores. However, Salman fails to break Aamir’s record this time around.
Aamir’s PK and Dhoom 3, both had earned Rs 735 crore and 536 crore respectively in two weeks. After excluding PK and Dhoom 3′s collections from China and Japan, where Bajrangi Bhaijaan did not release, the worldwide total of these two films stands at Rs 613 crores and Rs 514 crores. Though, the Kabir Khan directorial is expected to leave Dhoom 3 behind with its second week collection, catching up with PK’s worldwide total seems like a very slim possibility.
