Ajay Devgn is definitely not gonna like the kind of response his film Shivaay has earned in the overseas market, as opposed to it’s competition, Karan Johar‘s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Both the films have released on 28th October, which is also coinciding with the Diwali weekend. Therefore the possibilities of the films to earn big bucks at the box office is tremendously high. The box office earnings of Shivaay and ADHM are out and have earned Rs. 10.24 crs and rs. 13.30 crs respectively. Well, if the Ranbir Kapoor–Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer has earned so much in the domestic market, wait till you hear how much it has harboured in the overseas market. Bollywood Hungama has shared all the earnings of both, Ae Dil and Shivaay and we are literally left stumped. We’ve calculated the difference and it’s a whopping Rs. 2.11 crs! Yes. That’s the margin by which ADHM has won the overseas market.
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil –
Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anushka Sharma, Fawad Khan surely have got the international audience captivated by their release, ADHM! Reports of box office collection from Canada, UK, Australia and New Zealand have come in and KJo’s love saga has dominated them all. The United Kingdom collections are Rs. 1.03 crs from 82 screens! Their New Zealand collections are Rs. 22 Lakhs from 21 screens. In Australia, the film opened with a collection of Rs. 79,00,000 from 33 screens. Canada collection stands at Rs. 36,00,000 from 9 screens. Overall overseas collection of the film totals to Rs. 2.40 crs! Wow. I’m outta words.
Ajay Devgn, Erika Kaar, Sayyesha Segal, Abigail Eames’ starrer might not have attracted a large audience internationally. The film opened at a lesser number of screens internationally which affected their box office collections from the countries as well. Despite Hollywood level action sequences, the film managed to only rake in a total collection of Rs. 28.36 Lakhs. We’ll give you the division. From UK, the collection earned stands at Rs. 4.46 Lakhs from 32 screens. The New Zealand collection adds up to Rs. 3.96 Lakhs from 11 screens. Even the Australian opening isn’t that striking as they only raked in Rs. 13 Lakhs from 24 screens. The total isn’t very impressive but if you see the number of screens both the films have gained, it is without a doubt that ADHM will stand out considering the high number of screens it received.
