Priyanka Chopra, who has been going all out to promote Baywatch was recently on the show Dirty Laundry, where PC spoke about the one item of clothing that has stayed with her through the years. She took out a brown leather jacket and said that it was her absolute favourite and she wears it to the airport all the time because its really comfortable.

What she then said was that it belonged to her ex boyfriend and when the host asked her how it’s still with her, she added,

“Things get exchanged. But this one I really really loved because it kind of became mine. It stopped being him like after it stayed back in my house once and I just kind of wore it.”

Soon after the episode aired, people started comparing that jacket with the brown leather jacket that Shah Rukh Khan has been pictured in multiple times, with rumours doing the rounds that the jacket actually belongs to SRK.

What are your thoughts? If you haven’t seen the episode, you can watch it below.

‘Raabta’ makers break silence on plagiarism accusation by ‘Magadheera’ writers

Raabta, Magadheera

Raabta, Magadheera

Telugu movie ‘Magadheera’ makers dragged ‘Raabta’ writers to the court after accusing them of plagiarism. However, ‘Raabta’ writers claimed that there are no plot similarities between the movies and said, “If it’s like Magadheera, it’s like any other reincarnation film. Then every filmmaker in this country who has made a movie on reincarnation and past life should slap a notice on us,” says scriptwriter Garima.

The scriptwriter added, ” This is an original story, conceptualised and written by Siddharth and me. We worked on it for five years. They [makers of Magadheera] are free to go through our script and research material. Or they can watch our film and decide.

Her co-writer, Siddharth, says the story is as much about rebirth as karma. ” It’s immature of them -to file a case just on the basis of the trailer. They could have called up our director [Dinesh Vijan] and asked for a private screening of the film. We weren’t expecting a legal tussle. If they want to stall the release, they should have contacted us way in advance ,” he adds.

Films are often targeted on the basis of assumptions, he argues. ” Like in the case of [Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s] Padmavati, no one has any idea about the story but they are offended because they feel it’s portraying their queen in a bad light.

Director Dinesh, who was busy with post-production, remained unavailable for comment. An official statement from the ‘Raabta’ makers read, ” We are yet to receive the relevant suit papers and therefore, cannot give a specific comment. We’d, however, like to reject even the remotest suggestion that our film is a copy of Magadheera. We find it disrespectful when people from the industry belittle someone’s hard work by using words like copied and plagiarised nonchalantly.

The Hyderabad court will hear the case on June 1 to decide the release of ‘Raabta’, which is slated to hit the screens on June 9.

Are Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in a live-in relationship now?

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone

‘Padmavati’ is one of the most awaited movies of this year. With the magnum opus sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and stellar stars like Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor, this epic drama will surely mint some money at the box-office.

The ‘Padmavati’ team is currently shooting in Film City location of Mumbai which is in Goregaon. According to a report in a leading daily, a few sequences from the Kolhapur schedule were remaining, which are now being shot simultaneously at Dahisar, which happens to be a few kilometres away from Film City.

Ranveer is shuttling back and forth between the two locations which often tends to get tedious for the actor. A source close to the development informed a tabloid, ” In the sequence being shot currently in Dahisar, Alauddin Khilji, played by Ranveer Singh, sets up camp opposite the Chittor Fort. Ranveer was shooting here for two days and is juggling between Film City and Dahisar.

As per industry grapevine, Ranveer Singh’s co-star and alleged girlfriend Deepika Padukone has moved in with him for the course of the movie shoot. Ranveer bought a house on the outskirts of the city so that it is closer to the shooting locations and Deepika has chosen to stay with him which will cut down on their travel time.

So we don’t know if this moving in together is just tentative or will they choose to actually take their relationship to the next level by living in together for good?

We will just have to wait and watch!

Sachin: A Billion Dreams movie review: Sachin Tendulkar’s inspiring journey is as perfect as his cover drive

As a critic, Sachin: A Billion Dreams is the first documentary (if I can call it that) I get to review. As a cricket fan, (Well I was once upon a time, before the relentless onslaught of IPL), I am glad that a movie has been made on his life. I am not a Sachin Tendulkar fan though. I loved Rahul Dravid’s techniques more. But I can never deny that it always had been a very special feeling to see Sachin bat. Coming to specifications, Sachin: A Billion Dreams is a one-of-a-kind cinema for India – a docu-drama that is getting a wide release. Directed by Emmy-nominated James Erskine, it is definitely an experiment when it comes to our box office. Will it pay off? Read our review to find out…

What’s it about

Well, you know the story… it’s about the fantastic journey of Sachin Tendulkar from the time when he was a mischievous kid, to that moment when he bid farewell to cricket and left many in tears. His childhood is shown through a dramatic representation, through actors who play his little self, as well as his family and coach, Ramakant Achrekar. Once he enters professional cricket, rest of the movie is told through a series of snippets and real footage, narrated by none other than the God of Cricket himself.

What’s hot

It’s really strange that it took a foreigner to coach India to its World Cup win in 2011. Similarly, it also feels weird that it took a foreigner to make a movie on Sachin Tendulkar, and in the process, make the best movie on cricket – the sport. So let me say it, while Sachin may be a hero to billions, James Erskine’s taut direction is the hero of the film. Not only has he captured the spirit of cricket and its effect on India through Sachin’s journey, he also makes sure that you don’t ever feel that it is a documentary. Rather, you feel that you are a part of the journey, or simply putting in better words, you are reliving the best part of your childhood. If you are a ’90s kid and have breathed cricket like me, you will understand what I mean. What I liked the best about Sachin: A Billion Dreams is that it is not entirely about Sachin. It’s also a journey of Indian cricket. It’s also the story of his teammates and above all it is a celebration of his fans, who have cheered him, booed him but stayed with him throughout his career.

Some of the best moments to cheer for, during the film, were not even about Sachin. Perhaps it’s that wicket of Aamir Sohail that Venkatesh Prasad flicked during the 1996 World Cup, or when Laxman and Dravid guided India to a historic win in the 2001 series against Australia, or Dhoni’s iconic six that helped us win the World Cup. Sachin has not made it all about himself. But through these moments, he made us realise that Cricket is his everything, and sometimes it even came before his family. So when he talks about the infamous match-fixing scandal, you can feel the pain of betrayal he felt over certain colleagues. There are also many interesting tidbits about his life and career that you would easily lap up. Like, do you know which song Sachin always listens to when he feels down? Yes, the film answers it!

But it’s his family moments that gives the movie its heartwarming appeal. The film begins with videos showing Sachin holding his kids after their birth. This itself indicates how much importance he places on his family. Be it his cheesy love story with his wife Anjali, who stood with him through the bleakest of times, or his emotional state when his father passed away on the eve of World Cup ’99 – it’s these moments that make us realise that the God is as human as any of us. Only he has used his adversities to rise up again like a phoenix. If there are enough moments to cheer about, there are also a few moments that will leave you teary-eyed.

Coming to technical values, both the editing and cinematography are top-notch and help make the movie an engaging watch throughout. AR Rahman’s background score is perfect – it is thumping at times, but it never overshadows the moments. And the use of Vande Mataram song during the World Cup final is a master-stroke.

What’s not

I don’t know how the movie will appeal to the viewers who have never experienced Sachin in his prime – the ones who associate cricket with IPL and the T20 format. Or even those who have never been a fan of cricket. Even though the movie addresses the darker history of Indian cricket, like the match-fixing scandal and the Greg Chappell travesty, I feel the movie played a bit safe in those moments. The monkey-gate incident is completely ignored. Also, Sachin never reveals how it was to be playing under Ganguly, Dravid and Dhoni, after his rather unsuccessful stints as the skipper of the Indian cricket team.

Sachin, as a narrator, was a bit stiff, but then he was never an actor. However, he was rather free when he was around cricketing equipment.

What to do

Sachin: A Billion Dreams is a movie strictly for cricket fans. But then that’s the entire country, including yours truly. At the end of the movie, a fellow journalist told me ‘This is the happiest I have seen you after any movie.’ It’s true because I just watched a good piece of cinema where I became a cricket fan once again, and had relived my childhood. This is easily the best movie on cricket, and whether you are a Sachin fan or not, you will find tears flowing through the sides of your cheeks at the end of the film. Sachin: A Billion Dreams is highly recommended. Just make sure you cheer with the rest of the audience …Sachin…Sachin…!

Umm! This Bollywood Actress Wants To Work Only With Ranbir Kapoor Or Ranveer Singh

Disha Patani

Disha Patani

Disha Patani has a massive fan following. She is a great dancer, looks stunning, and I am already looking forward to her next film after MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. She was also a part of Jackie Chan’s Kung Fu Yoga.

Rumours are doing the rounds that Disha is being extremely choosy lately about the male lead opposite her before she signs a film. A source told DNA that when filmmakers approach her with scripts, she tells them that she is interested only if the hero is either Ranbir Kapoor or Ranveer Singh or Varun Dhawan or Tiger Shroff. Otherwise, she reportedly refuses to read the script.

Not sure if these rumours are true, but this is certainly a tight spot for any filmmaker!

Saif Ali Khan to return as Russian mafioso-Zombie Hunter in Go Goa Gone 2, confirms Dinesh Vijan

Saif Ali Khan is on a film signing spree. After a no show in 2016 and just one film in 2015, Saif Ali Khan returned to the big screen earlier this year with Vishal Bhardwaj’s Rangoon. However, the film bombed at the box office but that didn’t deter Saif Ali Khan as he’s all ready for reportedly three more films this year with Chef, Kala Kandi and Baazaar. Apart from that he has signed a medical drama with Vipul Shah ‘s next directorial. It is reported that he’ll also be playing an Army officer in one of his films but the biggest news is the green signal to his 2014’s much loved Go Goa Gone. Yes, the sequel is lit! And it is film’s producer and Saif’s former partner that spilled the beans about the sequel.

Talking to mid-day he said, “Saif and I are talking about a sequel to Go Goa Gone. He is leading the project and the script is now being developed. It’ll be produced under Illuminati Films (Saif and Dinesh’s joint production banner).”

Talking further about the film and how it has become a cult of sorts for the pop culture fanatics, he said, “The humorous dialogues in the original were appreciated by the audience. We are bringing the original cast together for the sequel.”

Saif and Dinesh co founded Illuminati Films and their first production was super hit Love Aaj Kal in 2009. Their second film together was 2012’s Agent Vinod which didn’t work at the box office but they returned with Cocktail (2012) which again was a superhit at the box office. After an average, Go Goa Gone (2013) and two disasters in Lekar Hum Deewana Dil (2014) and Happy Ending (2014) the two partners parted ways. Dinesh went on to start his own production house Maddock Films, under which he produced Finding Fanny (2014), Badlapur (2015), Hindi Medium (2017) and his upcoming directorial debut, Raabta (2017).

There were rumours about the rift between Saif and him to which he said, “It ended amicably. We met at work and became good friends. Our friendship has always gone beyond work and we have shared a great bond. He has been instrumental in my growth.”

He also stated that it is their busy schedule that makes it difficult for them to “meet and bounce ideas off of each other”. “But I wished Saif before Rangoon’s release and when Taimur was born.”

He signed off but not before talking about his directorial debut, Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon starrer Raabta, “We are having a crazy schedule editing the film, but it’s fun. This is my toughest film till date.”

Celina Jaitley

Celina Jaitley

Actress Celina Jaitly is expecting twins with her hotelier husband Peter Haag, who are due in October this year.
The 35-year-old actress is already a mother to five- year-old twin sons, Winston and Viraaj. Celina, who has entered her second trimester, says they were “initially shocked” when they got to know they were pregnant with twins again. “Doctor was doing ultrasound and Peter asked the doctor if it is twins this time too. Doctor said yes and we both were initially shocked,” Celina told PTI in an exclusive interview over phone from Dubai.

“We were exhilarated because the first thing that came in our mind was that we are the chosen one. We are God fearing and we feel God chooses special people to be parents of multiple children.” Both Celina and Peter love kids and are aware of the challenges as parents. The No Entry actress says, “My mother always advised me that there is no perfect way to be a mother and father, but there are a million ways to be a good parent. I have always believed there are no rules to be parent. My husband is 100 per cent involved in the pregnancy and we both take our responsibilities seriously as parents.” Celina says motherhood has helped her discover a lot about herself.

“I feel more patient, complete and sexier than ever. I have more respect for mothers.” Celina will soon visit India to shoot for an ad campaign. “I am back to work and I will be back to India to shoot for an ad campaign. I am also working on a book which will be out next year,” she says. Ever since she got married Peter, Celina has maintained some distance from Bollywood.
