The Ajya Devgan and Tabu thriller may have been off to a slow start but it is on the right track now…
Ajay Devgan and Tabu’s latest film Drishyam which is the remake of a Malayalam film by the same name opened to a weak theatre occupancy this Friday. The film only managed to make Rs 8.05 crores on Day 1 and trade watchers suggested that the film was expected to start slow. But with positive word of mouth and generally positive critic reviews, Drishyam has seen commendable growth on Day 2.
The film has made Rs 17.45 crores within two days which is worth applauding. The Ajay Devgn and Tabu film which also stars Shriya Saran, opened at only 2365 theatres this Friday which is relatively low compared to its contenders like Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Baahubali. The makers were anticipating that the suspense thriller won’t open to a thunderous response but their prediction about the word of mouth picking up the film’s business from Day 2 was right!
