Good news for the Ashutosh Gowariker directed film…
Ashutosh Gowariker’s magnum opus Mohenjo Daro has been in trouble since the time of release of the trailer. The artistic liberty taken by the maker to show the Indus Valley civilization did not go down well with many. Also, there was a plea against the film filed on grounds of copyright infringement. While to get answer on the ‘artistic liberty’ fiasco we might have to wait for the release of the film, the copyright infringement plea has been rejected by the High Court.
Akashaditya Lama had dragged the film’s story writer, director and producers to court accusing them of stealing his story for the Hrithik Roshan starrer. The HC not only dismissed the plea for any relief against the film, but also imposed a cost of Rs 1.5 lakh on Lama. The court has ordered him to donate the money to Nana Patekar Foundation, after Ashutosh Gowariker’s lawyer, Ravi Kadam, requested the money to be given to a welfare organization.
According to Lama’s Wikipedia page, the script writer who has written for TV serials like Chehra, Kasak, Kumkum, he also has written a play called Mohenjodare.
