Atif Aslam’s Aadat Si Hai Mujhko to Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s Jiya Dhadak Dhadak jaye…those memorable tunes and the voices behind them will not be heard in Bollywood films again.

Alright, the verdict is out. Pakistani artists are not working in India EVER.

After a closed door meeting between Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the Film and Television Producers Guild of India Ltd President Mukesh Bhatt, producer and director of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Karan Johar and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray, it has been decided that Pakistani artists will henceforth not be employed by Indian producers.

On the bright side, MNS has promised to “allow” Ae Dil Hai Mushkil starring Fawad Khan to be screened without any violence or protest from their side. However, Raj Thackeray has asked Bollywood producers to give a written statement that they would not hire any Pakistani artists.

This means that at least half of the hit songs you have known and loved over the years, well, that will be the last of the Pakistani singers you will hear of in this country. Atif Aslam’s Aadat Si Hai Mujhko to Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s Jiya Dhadak Dhadak jaye…those memorable tunes and the voices behind them will not be heard in Bollywood films again.

(Abhijeet Bhattacharya is probably laughing out loud in the distance)
