Deepika Padukone-Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Tamasha’ hits screens today

After a long wait and much talk, Imtiaz Ali’s romantic drama, ‘Tamasha’ starring Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor releases today.

After a long wait and much talk, Imtiaz Ali’s romantic drama, ‘Tamasha’ releases today. Starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, there has been much hype surrounding its release, ever since the film was first announced.

Set in Corsica, France, ‘Tamasha’ is a tale about Ved (Ranbir Kapoor) and Tara (Deepika Padukone) who cross paths on a holiday. Having the time of their lives, the duo explore the world without divulging any real details about themselves. But what happens when they return from their trip, only to get back to reality?

Audiences are eagerly waiting to see the former real-life couple, Ranbir Kapoor – Deepika Padukone reunite onscreen, especially after their big commercial success with ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’. Not only do they share an electrifying chemistry, but from their body language and their easy-going camaraderie with each other, it’s plain that both Ranbir and Deepika have not only grown as actors but as individuals who have come a long way in their professional and personal lives.

They bring that friendship onscreen, creating absolute magic and the very fact that Imtiaz has directed the two Bollywood talents, expectations are nothing short of brilliant.

“Chemistry is not something that me or Deepika bring to the table when you sign us on. It is also the kind of parts that we like individually as actors like in ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ we liked each other’s characters. Then we can bring our best to the table and the character and dynamics between us makes the chemistry,” said Ranbir during promotions of ‘Tamasha’.

Director Imtiaz Ali who has worked with Deepika in ‘Love Aaj Kal’ had only praise for the actress, “I think she has grown as a person. She has shed her very inherent shyness while acting. She has been able to overcome that. That is why she looks more confident, she has always been good, but she looks more confident because she has been able to deal with the shyness.”

Imtiaz also explained the title of his directorial, saying, “Tamasha’ has that kind of love which makes a normal person extraordinary, which makes a commoner an artist. This is the kind of love through which you understand why you need a woman in life and how it takes you on a journey through which we identify ourselves.”

While all seems promising, whether ‘Tamasha’ will be able to take on Salman Khan’s blockbuster, ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ at the box office, remains to be seen.

Ranbir Kapoor inspired by Deepika Padukone’s growth as an actor

Actor Ranbir Kapoor says that seeing co-star Deepika Pdukone’s growth as an actor was heart-warming and inspiring for him, and he learnt a lot while working with her.

“I learnt a lot working with Deepika. We did our second film together, ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ and then we did ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ which was a big hit. To see her grow as an actor and to this extent, was really heart-warming, encouraging and really inspiring for me,” he said after launching, with her, the trailer of Imtiaz Ali’s much-anticipated romantic film, “Tamasha” here on Tuesday.

“For me, ‘Tamasha’ is very special, to come with this team together. And I really hope that the people give the film a chance in the theatres and they enjoy the film. It’s the second film with Imtiaz and second film with Sajid Nadiadwala, my third film with Deepika and my eleventh film with Siddharth Roy Kapur (UTV Motion Pictures). So I’m really excited to work with this team,” he said.

The trailer was also launched on digital mediums and it was soon getting widely discussed on social media similar to the response the first look had garnered. The chemistry between Ranbir and Deepika definitely strikes through but perhaps some might consider it a tad emotional.

About the director of the film, Ranbir credits Imtiaz’s ‘Rockstar’ as an important milestone in his career. “‘Rockstar’ taught me and gave me a lot of success, awards and learning.”

About the tagline, “Why always the same story?”, Imtiaz said: “Sometimes the same kind of events occur in life and then we blame our circumstances for it and say that this is how life is. You never become who you are really as an individual.

“And the same story repeats for you, unless you take control of your life. You change that by saying that you’re not enjoying matters and that you’ll make your own endings in life, that’s when a different kind of ‘tamasha’ takes place.”

‘Tamasha’ produced by Sajid Nadiadwala is slated to release on November 27.

Ranbir Kapoor: Hope Deepika’s Luck Works For me, Not Mine For Her

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor said that he hopes his ex-girlfriend Deepika Padukone brings good luck for him.

Ranbir’s 2013 comedy Besharam and his latest outing Bombay Velvet failed to register success at the box office.

“It is not fair to label anyone as a lucky charm. Deepika has worked very hard to be here. She is a dedicated person. I do hope her luck works on me and not mine on her. It’s very good. It depends on Tamasha. If the film becomes successful then everyone would be happy to see our pairing,” said Ranbir.

Directed by Imtiaz Ali, Tamasha reunites Ranbir and Deepika after 2013 hit film Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani. Deepika has also worked with Imtiaz in Love Aaj Kal and Ranbir and Imtiaz last collaborated on Rockstar.

“Deepika and I worked in the second film of our career Bachna Ae Haseeno and then after a long time, we worked together in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and now Tamasha. I have seen her growth as an actress. There is so much to learn from her. It is not only heart-warming but inspiring and encouraging to work with her,” he added.

Ranbir also said that Imtiaz and Deepika bring out the best in him. “There is lesser pressure as we have talented people like Deepika and Imtiaz on board for Tamasha. Imtiaz always brings out the best in me and so is the case with Deepika. I have less pressure when I am working with them,” he said.

Regarding the title of the film, Ranbir said: “We are in showbiz. Tamasha can be good or bad. But there has to be a limit to it. I have earlier worked with Deepika and Imtiaz and I have had a great experience. I have also learnt a lot of things from Rockstar.”

Tamasha is scheduled to release on November 27.
