Ooh – Ranbir Kapoor To Do A Cameo In This Major Film

Just recently, it was confirmed that Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma are indeed on board for Imtiaz Ali‘s next film, which is based in London, Budapest and Punjab, and features SRK as a tour guide and Anushka as a tourist. And now, rumours are doing the rounds that Ranbir Kapoor has been roped in for a cameo! This isn’t all that surprising, since Imtiaz and Ranbir are very close and have worked together in the past. In fact, even when Imtiaz did Highway without Ranbir, the actor joined the team for some promotions to lend his support.

We’ve seen Anushka and Ranbir together before for Bombay Velvet, but this time around it’ll be interesting to see SRK and Ranbir share some screen space, if they do have any scenes together.

Sounds interesting – hope it’s really happening!

Here’s Why Imtiaz Ali Chose Anushka Sharma Over Deepika Padukone For His Next With Shah Rukh Khan

Imtiaz Ali has reportedly cast Anushka Sharma opposite Shah Rukh Khan in his upcoming movie and according to a column by Rajeev Masand, Deepika Padukone was considered for this role too. Imtiaz decided to not repeat Deepika after working with her in Love Aaj Kal andTamasha because he felt that DP has done too many movies with Shah Rukh and their pair would be a little jaded. He cast Anushka due to the fact that she has done fewer movies with SRK and that their chemistry would be fresh. If this is the reason then it’s rather strange as Deepika has done just one more movie with SRK as compared to Anushka. He also mentioned that Anushka was offered Tamasha, but she let it go as she thought her role wasn’t meaty enough, so this was Imtiaz’s way of making it up to her.

What do you think, who looks better with SRK, Deepika or Anushka?

This Is Why Deepika Padukone Replaced Anushka Sharma In Tamasha

Imtiaz Ali‘s Tamasha starring Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor won a lot of critical appreciation. However, we have learnt that Deepika wasn’t the first choice for this movie.

Open Magazine recently revealed that Anushka Sharma was the first choice for the movie but she thought the role wasn’t “meaty” enough for her.

As badly as she wanted to work with Ali, the role didn’t impress her at all. It wasn’t lengthy enough as it was primarily Ranbir’s film.

This is when Deepika stepped in and all the critical acclaim went to her as well. Anushka and Ranbir were first seen in Bombay Velvet together and will now be seen in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Deepika Padukone-Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Tamasha’ hits screens today

After a long wait and much talk, Imtiaz Ali’s romantic drama, ‘Tamasha’ starring Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor releases today.

After a long wait and much talk, Imtiaz Ali’s romantic drama, ‘Tamasha’ releases today. Starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, there has been much hype surrounding its release, ever since the film was first announced.

Set in Corsica, France, ‘Tamasha’ is a tale about Ved (Ranbir Kapoor) and Tara (Deepika Padukone) who cross paths on a holiday. Having the time of their lives, the duo explore the world without divulging any real details about themselves. But what happens when they return from their trip, only to get back to reality?

Audiences are eagerly waiting to see the former real-life couple, Ranbir Kapoor – Deepika Padukone reunite onscreen, especially after their big commercial success with ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’. Not only do they share an electrifying chemistry, but from their body language and their easy-going camaraderie with each other, it’s plain that both Ranbir and Deepika have not only grown as actors but as individuals who have come a long way in their professional and personal lives.

They bring that friendship onscreen, creating absolute magic and the very fact that Imtiaz has directed the two Bollywood talents, expectations are nothing short of brilliant.

“Chemistry is not something that me or Deepika bring to the table when you sign us on. It is also the kind of parts that we like individually as actors like in ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ we liked each other’s characters. Then we can bring our best to the table and the character and dynamics between us makes the chemistry,” said Ranbir during promotions of ‘Tamasha’.

Director Imtiaz Ali who has worked with Deepika in ‘Love Aaj Kal’ had only praise for the actress, “I think she has grown as a person. She has shed her very inherent shyness while acting. She has been able to overcome that. That is why she looks more confident, she has always been good, but she looks more confident because she has been able to deal with the shyness.”

Imtiaz also explained the title of his directorial, saying, “Tamasha’ has that kind of love which makes a normal person extraordinary, which makes a commoner an artist. This is the kind of love through which you understand why you need a woman in life and how it takes you on a journey through which we identify ourselves.”

While all seems promising, whether ‘Tamasha’ will be able to take on Salman Khan’s blockbuster, ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ at the box office, remains to be seen.

Imtiaz Ali Reveals Why He Didn’t Cast Deepika Padukone In Rockstar!

In a recent interview with The Telegraph, Imtiaz Ali opened up about his movies and casting choices. He surprised us readers by revealing that Deepika Padukone was the first choice to play Heer in Rockstar. Yep, the director wanted her to play Ranbir Kapoor‘s lover way back in 2011, but he decided against casting her because Deepika had played a similar role in Imtiaz’s previous movie – Love Aaj Kal. Here’s what Imtiaz has to say about the similarities between Heer and Meera:

“I always wanted to cast Deepika in Rockstar. The first time I had met her, many years back, I wanted to cast her in Rockstar. But then I did Love Aaj Kal with her. Now, when Rockstar was finally getting made, I realized there were many scenes which were similar for the girl’s characters in the two movies. That whole conflict of getting married but realizing that she is somewhere else in her mind. And there were other scenes also in the second half of Love Aaj Kal which had the same conflict that Heer (Nargis Fakhri) had in Rockstar. So I thought if I cast Deepika again, it would look exactly the same. And the bluff will be called. I even explained it to her. She knows it.”
