Uh-Oh! This Bollywood Hunk Refused To Be On Koffee With Karan

John Abraham

John Abraham

Koffee With Karan is my favourite show on television currently and I have a long list of people I would love to see on the show – John Abraham being one of them. He is so mysterious, wouldn’t it be awesome to see him open up in front of Karan and led us on some secrets of his life?!

Unfortunately, reports are doing the rounds that John has politely declined KJo’s offer to be on the couch. Reportedly, he is hesitant to participate in another TV show after his fallout with Krushna Abhishek on Comedy Nights Bachao. Karan and John have been on very good terms ever since their superhit film together, Dostana. Hope this does not affect their relationship in any way.

Were you also hopeful of seeing John on Karan’s show?

Here Is What John Abraham Has To Say About Walking Out Of Comedy Nights Bachao Taaza

John Abraham,Krushna Abhishek

John Abraham recently walked out of Krushna Abhishek‘s Comedy Nights Bachao Taaza, as he was reportedly miffed with the show’s roast format targeting his older films. The actor was on the show to promote his upcoming film, Force 2.

Reportedly, Krushna was quite apologetic about the incident and even ran after John to say sorry, but John had left the venue till then. When John was asked to comment on the entire incident by a leading daily, he chose to skip giving a direct answer and instead said:

Well, I feel I won’t comment on it, nahi toh main sabko zyada importance dunga. But I feel aksar yeh hota hai ki humein bola jaata hai ki go for so many shows yeh woh… humein wohi karna chahiye jo film ka requirement ho, and I think we stuck to that. Bas utna hi keh sakta hoon.”

MOVIE REVIEW: Varun Dhawan, Akshaye Khanna And The Dog Deserve Better

Dishoom had so much potential. Three good-looking leads (one is also a good actor), an interesting trailer, Parineeti Chopra‘s abs and Akshaye Khanna making another comeback after a hiatus of 4 years but the result was just meh. The plot is good on paper – the star cricketer of the Indian cricket team, Viraj Sharma (Saqib Saleem, playing a character based on Virat Kohli) has been kidnapped before India plays against Pakistan and he needs to be found in 36 hours before the public finds out about it. Two men are supposed to find him, one is like Veeru, the other is like Jai.

Their names are Javed (Varun Dhawan) and Kabir (John Abraham) and they call each other J & K, the references are not lost, because we love Men In Black. The bad guy (Akshaye Khanna) plays the cleverly named Wagah because he doesn’t belong to India or Pakistan. Jacqueline Fernandez plays Ishika, a kleptomaniac with a troubled past who apparently gets turned on whenever Kabir is mean to her. I don’t get this about movies, why do they show the girl falling for a boring guy who is horrible to her? In a scene, Kabir, who is a tough inspector, literally threatens to break her face and that makes her pupils dilate.

Anyway, the chronicles of J & K to find the Viraj before the match begins in the main crux and what would have been a funny action-adventure film, becomes really boring after Kabir stares at someone menacingly for the zillionth time. John Abraham is basically himself as the brooding Kabir, Rohit Dhawan has made sure he doesn’t have to do much but look threatening. Varun is hilarious as Javed, the actor has shown his flair for comedy in his dad’s Main Tera Hero and inDishoom he plays the earnest ‘non-sidekick’ extremely well. It’s his shenanigans which make the first half of the movie seem breezy enough. He sadly doesn’t have the backing of a good screenplay to make the entire film a fun watch. Jacqueline is pretty but she really doesn’t have much to do. Akshaye is great as always, as the villain who is involved in the betting business, the need for him to kidnap Viraj is established too, but by the time the guys manage to save the day, you’ve just lost all interest. Also, my expectations from Mr. Khanna are too high to be happy with this role.

There’s another Akshay in the movie too, the Khiladi sports a man-bun and makes John and Varun strip in the pool. He plays a sexed up homosexual and makes erotic references to Varun and John’s bodies, because Bollywood can sometimes time-travel to the ’90’s and ‘the gays’ are just horny weirdos without personality or layers, like normal human beings.

Nargis Fakhri is there too, and she looks amazing, as always. Saqib is nicely cast as the badass cricketer and Satish Kaushik is brilliant as the voice behind the man who constantly trolls Javed on the phone (that track is one of the best gags in the movie). Rahul Dev is nice in his role and those dhoti pants look really, really comfortable. All the actors (except John) have done a good job, but Rohit Dhawan and Tushar Hiranandani‘s screenplay is disappointing during the second half. Nitin Rokade and Ritesh Soni‘s editing is often erratic and Ayananka Bose‘s cinematography is sleek. The standouts in Dishoom are Vijay Raaz, who is in one scene where he cuts John to size and that adorable dog named Bradman who plays quite a pivotal role.Pritam‘s music is a let down.

Dishoom is not ground-breaking, but no one expected it to be, and while it does manage to make us laugh in a few scenes, the rest of the movie is quite boring. Varun Dhawan, Akshaye Khanna and the dog deserve better.

John Abraham Reacts To The Divorce Rumours Surrounding His Marriage

Every six months we hear rumours of John Abraham and Priya Runchal‘s marriage being in trouble and every time John dismisses these reports as baseless. Yet again, this long-distance relationship is plagued with break-up rumours and this time, it looks like John is extremely angry. Here’s what he told IndiaToday.in when asked about this piece of information –

“I don’t even feel like talking about this any longer. I mean, how long can I even continue clarifying things? Every other day, there is some rumour or the other. Let people say what they have to. I’m tired of repeating what I’ve already said. I’m tired of justifying things, telling people what is true and what is not.”

Last year too, when asked about his relationship status, John had said that it’s all crap and the rumours are baseless.

Is John Abraham & Priya Runchal’s Marriage In Trouble?

According to a report in the Deccan Chronicle, John Abraham and Priya Runchal‘s marriage is in trouble. This news is rather surprising as just a few weeks ago, John spoke candidly about his quiet and happy life with his wife. But it seems like a colleague of the actor has revealed how her work in the United States and his career in Bollywood is taking a toll on their relationship. Here’s what he had to say –

“They’ve drifted apart. There’s nothing seriously wrong between them. But then there was nothing so right between them for things to go wrong. The couple is hardly together. Nowadays distance doesn’t make the heart grow fonder, but makes the heart wander. John needs to spend time with his wife. But his career keeps him busy here and she too won’t take time off from her job in the US. She isn’t comfortable with John’s Bollywood friends either.”

Well, if the news is true, then we hope the two reconcile soon!

John Abraham Talks About His Wife Priya Like Never Before

A while ago, I told you how John Abraham gave his best wishes to newlyweds Bipasha Basuand Karan Singh Grover when asked about them in a Mumbai Mirror interview. During the same conversation with the leading tabloid’s Entertainment Editor Roshmila Bhattacharya, he also spoke about his wife Priya Runchal at length like never before. Theirs was a long distance marriage as Priya was in Los Angeles, but she has now joined him. Here’s what John said:

“Now she has joined me and handles everything, from my management to finances. She’s a good teammate, my partner in everything, but doesn’t like to go to too many functions. Anyone else in her place would love to come out in a red gown and walk the red carpet, she’d rather concentrate on credible causes. While some flaunt their partners on Facebook or Twitter, I hold her in high regard… Priya has a strong sense of self. She doesn’t want to be called an actor’s wife, she’d rather make her own space. She’s not enamoured by the glamour around, her biggest strength is her simplicity and that’s something I find attractive across the board.”

John Abraham replaces Akshay Kumar for the fourth time?

Just before John Abraham flew off to Hungary for the shoot of Force 2, the actor apparently gave his nod to the sequel of the 2002 film Awara Pagal Deewana, which is titled Awara Pagal Deewana Returns.

John will be portraying Akshay’s role while Aftab Shivdasani and Suniel Shetty will be reprising their roles.

After stepping into the Khiladi’s shoes for Welcome Back, Hera Pheri 3 and Aankhen 2, this is the fourth time that Johnny boy has replaced Akki in the sequels of his films.

John Abraham Opens Up About His Divorce Rumours!

John Abraham recently opened up to the media about his personal life. Rumours of a separation between John and his wife Priya Abraham have been doing the rounds since many months now. But, at a media interaction for his movie – Welcome Back, John dismissed the said rumours, saying that all is well in his beautiful paradise. Indian Express reported that the actor believes that his silence is often mistaken as his weakness.

“I believe in being quiet because I feel that is dignified. I keep quiet but unfortunately I also see lot of negative press sometimes around me and that is very disparaging and discouraging. I feel I don’t deserve it and no one in my family deserves it. Just because no one speaks doesn’t mean you can go out and say anything you want.”

About the state of his long-distance marriage, John elaborated:

“All is superb in paradise… to set the record straight. Everything is beautiful in paradise. It is not true. You believe all that crap. I just feel bad when people put out things. All is beautiful in (my) paradise. I was doing a comedy film but I did not know that comedy was happening outside my life… just put all this rumours to rest…there is nothing happening. It is all superb.”

Good to know!
